Christine Marinoni is an education activist in New York City and is currently in a relationship with Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon. News broke of their relationship in 2003, during which Nixon separated from Danny Mozes, father of her two children and boyfriend of 15 years. Despite the tabloid frenzy that ensued at the time, Nixon has said she, her children and Marinoni have become a "regular family."

On April 15, 2008, Nixon went public about her battle with breast cancer. She attributed part of her recovery to the support received from Marinoni and her kids. Quotes:
