From All Movie Guide: Industry scribe Cynthia Mort began her career as an author of teleplays, exhibiting her strongest flair for material with a provocative edge and bite. Mort authored numerous episodes of the groundbreaking ABC sitcom Roseanne (1988-98) and the NBC sitcom Will and Grace (1998-2006), before moving into her own as executive producer, creator and one of the principal writers of the popular HBO soap opera Tell Me You Love Me (2007). With an impressive all-star ensemble cast that included Sherry Stringfield, David Selby, Jane Alexander and Katherine Towne, that series detailed the nuptial vicissitudes of three couples at various stages of life with incisiveness and profundity. It received generally favorable notices and gained much attention in the press for the degree to which its sexual and emotional frankness pushed the edge of the envelope. Mort also co-authored the script of Neil Jordan's 2007 revenge-themed psychodrama (The Brave One) (starring Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard), receiving co-credit with Bruce A.
